some drawings that will incoporated into a new sculptural piece - will post some more images later. How did you spend your earth hour?-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
some minor changes
approaching the end of the month and making minor changes to the web site- cleaning up the formatting and also with much discussion with John - I switched the bookhou design logo to simply bookhou - everything will simply be just bookhou. I will still be using the bookhou design logo on the products and will slowly move to the other brand as the year progresses.

embroidered and painted
![]()
I silkscreened the outlines of the tree and painted in the leaves - the little bird is embroidered. I really enjoyed making these. Teaching is gearing down and I will only be teaching one class next term allowing time to make sculptural work. John is finishing up some wood projects and will also be spending time on painting. We were disappointed to hear of a space we wanted was given to an internal person - we didn't even get a chance - there might be another one coming up in the summer. We would liket to have a place with regular business hours for our clients convenience - although I think people enjoy seeing where all the production happens.

new patch quilt....& more new work
I couldn't resist - this is definitely the last patch quilt (for babies) before the show. I really enjoy making patch quilts - there is no pattern to follow - just your instincts. I also enjoy the fact that each one is different and unique. I finally finished the details of the other dresses (the details are from two different dresses). I have had several studio visits and been busy replenishing the inventory for the upcoming show. I am currently working on a wholesale order for a shop in Portugal (how exciting).

these little embroidered badges are also new - I will have more stlyes later. John found all this wonderful cardboard at work that was going to be thrown out and he rescued it for me - I used it to display the badges.

movable collage figure
I know those of you living in warm parts of the world are wondering there is so much talk about this winter - I've live in Toronto most of my life and really I have never seen so much snow. Apparently on the news they said the last time we had this much snow was 70 years ago. This is currently the view outside my window and hopefully this will be the last snow storm. This weeks project is a fun way to make movable figures - give it a try it's a lot of fun - instructions over at bloesem kids. Stay warm.

the reluctant model
I tried to get a shot that wasn't too blurry and was showing the product, but my model was very reluctant. This is a new neck warmer - the fabric is wool with a bird printed on it with natural colour flannel on the underside - it has a button closure for quick cover ups. I will have them online soon. They are for the OOAK spring show.--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
so much sewing
This was my view all weekend - I have been sewing so much to the point where my right side is numb - really it's that bad (I know I need to get some help sewing)- I also have new projects coming up, which I will share at a later date - it's the beginning of march and well there's still a lot of snow and it's still chilly - I am so glad everything is back to normal with john and lliam well again.
